Some days, because of our busy and stressful lives, we may feel like we have the weight of the world on us. We may be worried about many things, our relationships, our families, our jobs, our health, or maybe our financial struggles. All of these things can weigh on our minds and preoccupy our thoughts.

In order to better handle our daily challenges we must ask the Lord to help us carry these weights, our crosses. In our personal sufferings, Jesus is actually inviting us to share in His way to eternal salvation, the way of the cross. He has chosen each one of us for this mission! All we have to do is respond to this invitation by believing in Him, loving Him, and following Him. And then we must let go and trust God knows what’s best for us.

We are Catholic. In His Passion, Jesus assumed the weight of the world for us and carried that weight onto the cross. The way of the cross is also the way of our eternal salvation to heaven. Like Jesus, our cross may be very heavy at times, but eternal life in heaven is worth the weight.

Ponder: In what areas of our lives do we have difficulty turning all of our trust in God?

Reflection: Mt. 16:24

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me to unite all of my sufferings with Yours on the cross.
