The pregnant woman carries life within her very womb. This life cannot be seen naturally by her or others until the child is born. For nine months, the child lives in a hidden garden growing continually before taking its first breath outside the womb.
The hidden life of a child in the womb is under the care and protection of the mother. Such was the life of Jesus in the Mary’s womb, the garden of Life, the living Tabernacle. Jesus, veiled in His Mother’s womb, is our Blessed Sacrament.
Just as Jesus, not seen by the human eye, was present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in Mary’s womb, so too is He present, hidden, and veiled today in the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Eucharist.
We are Catholic. Like a child alive and veiled in the womb of the mother, Jesus is alive and veiled in every Sacred Host in every tabernacle in the world. We know from the words of Jesus, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” Jn 6:56. Consume the veiled and living Body of Jesus worthily to have true Life within you.
Ponder: What must you do to receive the Lord worthily?
Reflect: John 6:35-58
Pray: Lord, help my unbelief.
