THE DEVIL IS REAL
Many believe that the devil (also known as Satan and the evil one) is merely a concept to describe evil. But let it be clear that the devil is real and he and the many other evil spirits are very active in this world. The main goal of the devil is the destruction of your soul.
In our daily lives, it is the devil who tempts us to do what is not of God. He lures us into believing that evil is good. Satan is the father of all lies and uses our language to convince us to accept evil as good. An example of his trickery in language is when abortion is referred to as “women’s health” or as a “reproductive right” when, in fact, the Church teaches that abortion is a grave sin.
We are Catholic. We are called to know the teachings of the Church and to be obedient to the teachings of the Church. We must look beyond the rhetoric of our culture and rely solely on the Word of God, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Always follow Christ and His teachings and reject the lies of the evil one.
Ponder: What are some of the other lies that the devil tries to convince us to accept as good?
Reflect: Sacred Scripture: John 8:42-47
Pray: Heavenly Father, help us to always follow your path to eternal life and to reject the lies of the evil one.
