Are you a worrier?  Our world is certainly inundated with many reasons that may cause us to worry. Being preoccupied with worry is a normal state in life for many. But should it be this way?

One fact of the matter…worrying never produces positive results. Have you ever heard anyone say that they wished they had worried more?  Or, if only they had worried more, things would have turned out better. We never hear this because worrying is never productive.

When we worry, we place a burden on ourselves that we alone must carry. Typically, our worried thoughts preoccupy us with the worst outcome possible, in any given situation.

In the simple words of St. Pio of Pietralcina, “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.” This is truly sound advice. Pray…talk to the Lord and turn over to Him all of your troubles. Hope…have complete confidence that the Lord will answer your prayers in accordance with His will for you. Don’t worry…trust that the Lord loves you so much that He will accompany you on your journey and provide for your every need.

We are Catholic. Turn to Jesus in the Eucharist to strengthen you during times of struggle. Replace all of your worries with complete trust in the Lord.

Ponder: Do you allow the Lord to carry your burdens in life, or do you try to handle everything yourself?

Reflect: Mt. 6:25-34

Pray: Dear Lord, send to me your Spirit of comfort that I may be relieved of all that weighs me down in my daily life.
