God is pro-choice. What a statement! The fact is God created us all with a free will. He created us free to choose right or wrong, good or evil, and Heaven or hell.
When God created us in His image, He wanted us to love Him freely and to follow His commands by our choice, nothing forced. However, this gift of freedom has limitations and these limitations have been in place since the beginning of time.
Adam, the first man God created, was placed in the Garden of Eden and was told by God not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Adam had been given an entire garden to live, work, and enjoy. God gave Adam one limitation to his free reign in the garden. Adam was not to touch the fruit of one specific tree. One limit to his freedom.
God has put limits to our freedom. These limits are clearly defined in Sacred Scripture, starting with the Ten Commandments.
We are Catholic. The Church clearly guides us to follow the path of authentic freedom as we have received from Jesus Christ. Live a life of authentic freedom, a life that always chooses Jesus. Live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Ponder: What are some of the most difficult choices facing us and how do we respond according to the teachings of the Church?
Reflect: Sacred Scripture: Gn 2:15-17
Pray: Holy Spirit, help me make all of my choices in life pleasing to God.
