Have you ever had a song stuck in your head? Over and over again the tune plays in your head and you can’t seem to make it stop. You are simply filled with the tune in your head.
In much the same way, the Holy Spirit wants to fill you up. He not only wants to occupy your head but your heart as well. The Holy Spirit wants to set your body, soul, and spirit on fire with love.
The question is how do we become filled with the Holy Spirit, filled wth love? One way is to turn off the tunes, turn off the noise in your life and spend some time in quiet solitude. It may sound boring at first, but once the Holy Spirit enters your heart, you become a vessel of love.
We are Catholic. We are called to find time each day to allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. Create quiet moments in your day. Just like the disciples on the first Pentecost, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you up, to be the only voice, the only repeating tune in your head.
Ponder: What are some other actions we can take that will allow the Holy Spirit to work more powerfully within us?
Reflect: Sacred Scripture: Acts 2:1-4
Pray: Holy Spirit, come and fill me completely with the love of God.
