If you are or have ever been the parent of a small child, it is very probable that you have heard the familiar and perpetual cry, “Are we there yet?” when on a road trip. The luxury of DVD players and electronic games has not always existed to entertain our bored children while traveling.

“Are we there yet?” is a question asked by those who are anticipating a long-awaited journey’s end. It is a question that we as Christians should be asking ourselves every day.  Are we looking forward to our journey’s end?

We are Catholic. Our journey’s end is heaven, if we choose this destination. Our heavenly destination is something we should eagerly anticipate with a childlike enthusiasm. Are you excited about your journey’s end?

Ponder: What prevents us from being excited about our eternal destination?

Reflect:  Sacred Scripture:  Jn. 14:2-3

Pray: Heavenly Father, You have prepared a place for me. Help me to trust in You always.
