ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD…AND THEN SOME
A common complaint frequently heard is that there are not enough hours in the day. Many may also contend that there are never enough hours in the night! Whatever it is, most of us could simply use a little more time.
It’s interesting that the one thing God gave us equally is time in each day. We all get 24 hours. In his infinite wisdom, God has determined that we can achieve everything he needs us to do within the hours he has given us. If we find ourselves short on time, maybe we should re-examine our daily routines and daily priorities.
If your life is frenzied or chaotic, or if you find yourself too busy to pray or too busy to attend Holy Mass, you may be spending too much time pursuing things of the world and not focusing on what God wills for you each day. Be assured, God gives you ample time to accomplish everything he needs for you to do; and he even puts in extra time for relaxation and sleep!
We are Catholic. Our goal in this life is to get to heaven and to bring with us as many souls as possible. And the good news is that this is also God’s will for us. We must listen to his instructions on how he wants us to accomplish this goal each and everyday. God speaks to us through prayer and he gives us all the time in the world to speak with him. Make time for God, and he will reward you with ample time in your day.
Ponder: What can you let go of each day in order to spend more time with God?
Reflect: Sacred Scripture: Eph 5:15-21
Pray: Heavenly Father, help me to understand how to best spend my time each day in order to make more time for you.
